Craig.. I have to honestly say that posting there, and expecting an answer 
other that what you got, was foolish.. you've been around long enough to 
know that they don't know anything over there..

but the real answer isn't much different than theirs, or much different than 
for Vista.. there aren't enough people using it to have an intelligent 
response.. too many versions of each platform, too many different types of 
access limitations, too many ways to install, too many versions of Paradox, 
too many possible external interactions that might have to be tested and/or 
used..

all you can do is review the postings on the different forums, experiment 
with what you have and what you have to work with, ask questions, then make 
up your own mind whether or not to proceed.. your results might be 
completely different than anyone elses, good bad or otherwise..
