scott.. as suggested above and elsewhere.. what error messages? exact
context? all users? specific process and/or folder?
I know you said that you collectively don't have much knowledge of the
underpinnings, that might work against you.. without specific clues and
commonality, it's hard to make intelligent suggestions.. without knowing
what you're seeing, it's hard to know what that commonality might be

If using the project viewer, try closing it and doing it via menu.
