so far, the fields that I looked at, in the forms and reports, are all the
stupid, long, default format.. "W.W,ENWDWLW".. I want to make a list of
outside influences to check, like the suggestions you two made, before I
simply change the field formats to "w.2"
if I've ever seen this behavior before, I don't recall it, so I'd like to
know what it is, before I over-ride it

There is also a setting for Numbers in the BDE Administrator:
System/Formats/Number -> DecimalDigits which may be being considered by
Paradox.
