thanks for all the suggestions, guys.. most of which I've already
considered, of course.. I did re-size the blocks, pass the data to other
tables, etc.. the one thing I'll do later, when I have time, is to delete
the sec indexes one at a time, to see which index is the problem

* make a backup
* copy *.db and *.mb to another folder
* do Table - Empty on your original table
* do Table - Restructure - Pack on your original table
* add records from those copied tables to your original table
