I have a form that creates and executes a bat file. Has been working
great on my computer and a customer's 3 computers.
Suddenly a week ago it would no longer work on two of his computers.
After much pondering I decided to create a bat file and dbl-click it to
run. I got the Windows' "The publisher could not be verified. Are you
sure you want to run this software?" message. Problem identified.
I did some research and all the suggestions said to use the group policy
editor and configure the "Inclusion list for low file types" by adding
".bat". I did this and it does indeed work.
The part that puzzles me is that my computer does not have "Inclusion
list for low file types" configured, yet bat files still run ok. Any
ideas why the bat files run on my computer and not his? Thanks for any help.
All computers involved are running Win XP sp3
