Now there's some famous old names - Brian Bushay, Bill Todd, Diamond
Software Group - the Paradox greybeards :-)
An old post I found on one of the delphi groups in the museum of
antiquities pointed me to the CONFIGFILE01 registry entry and that
stirred memories. It seems it was pointing to the default config file
which was in the BDE32 folder that the BDE was moved to using Leslie's
installer and updater. Once I gave full rights to that folder to the
user the problem went away. I was able to change the configuration,
point to all the correct aliases and the shared NET folder and save the
config.file elsewhere for use with the -o switch.
I didn't realise that the Win3.1 compatibility switch caused
configuration file entries to be stored in the config file rather than
all over the registry. No wonder some congif file entries don't appear
to stick.
