it's in the middle of the overnight stuff
scanning a table, firing off a special process sometimes, and for years
it's worked flawlessly hundreds of times a night.. that special process
gets called by user changes hundreds of times a day, too
it is momentarily putting a full lock on one of many "template" tables,
to copy it to the user's priv.. now, in the overnight stuff, for some
reason, the lock file gets written, then freezes, with that error message
testing shows that it would stop everyone dead in their tracks, til the
lock file goes away.. fortunately 1) nobody else is online in the middle
of the night, and 2) when the overnight stuff is finished, regardless of
the success or failure of the individual processes, it exits from
paradox and that stupid lock file gets deleted
