This is a discussion that has been debated here in the past.  You could 
search for it if the search were working but it's not, so I'll sum it up. 
ANY change in the medium for these forums is probably going to have a net 
negative impact.  :-)

Some will leave because they hate web-based forums.  Others will because 
they don't want to have to register.  I do not think they will be replaced 
by a heretofore silent mob of Paradox users.

I am willing to be wrong about this, if anyone wants to discuss.
