DOS version doesn't seem to have the Leading Zero options.

They called it "rudimentary AI".

A wildcard query assumes CCP default format. Others silently fail.

Another:
CCP Default DD-Mon-YY
2016.6.23 => OK
2016.06.23 => OK
23.6.2016 => "Missing comma"
23.06.2016 => "Missing comma"

 From memory the last two are OK if CCP default is DD.MM.YY

I vaguely recall some oddities with month leading zero's with default
format YY.MM.DD, that were not present with default format DD.MM.YY

YY.MM.DD was, I think, a late addition. Others may correct me on this.

I'm now considering supporting only the currently set default format.
Would be simpler, but risk failing flexible format usage.

We're seeing so many problems with flexible format I doubt much real
code survived it.

I can only guess the mood in 91/92. Limited resources, fighting existing
design and implementation issues and fretting about Windows. A pressure
cooker, me thinks!
