killed the print spooler, rebooted, the print spooler was still off

tried p11, same error.. renamed all the dell folders, tried p11, same
error.. you gotta love it !! :-)

I'm way more concerned with the similarity of our problem.. these guys never
had a dell aio printer, that they know of.. this is the oldest machine in
their office, so it could have been anything installed over the years, any
random piece of malware, etc..

I'm gonna log into a different machine.. the dell folder is not on any other
machine in the building, they just looked

I'm not sure what to do if it's not in the PrintUI...

but it doesn't come up on the list, with PrintUI, like it did for you !!

wow.. hers is the A960, not the A920, but otherwise it's the exact same
thing !!

C:\Windows\twain_32\Dell\AIO Printer A960\dlbftwds.ds

there must be a reason it's the same

Steven,

I had a similar situation where whenever I tried to run my application or
just the runtime, I would get a GPV. Here's what I did that fixed it for
me.
Download the Process Explorer from Microsoft
(https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer)
Run Paradox and get the GPV, don't exit Paradox, just let the GPV run.
Open Process Explorer and right-click on the pdxrwn32.exe entry and select
Properties, Look in the Current Directory field. For the computer that was
having the entry it had: C:\Windows\twain_32\Dell\AIO Printer A920\ and the
client didn't even have a printer like that installed. I stopped the
printer spooler and deleted the printer driver AND the package using Printui
/s /t2 from the command line. I restarted the printer spooler, ok'ed the
GPV and launched the application again. Worked perfect.

Not sure if this is the same error or if someone else has had the problem,
but it's worth a try.

Steve,
Do you get the GPF when you try and run the runtime all by itself?

I'm grasping at straws here, folks.. I have a client with p8 running fine on
a machine, but I try to load p11 from suite x8 or p11 from suite x3, I'm
getting a generic "general protection fault" error.. I'm just trying to run
it clean on C drive, not using the network yet at all

the bde obviously is fine, cuz p8 uses it.. both p11 versions create a net
file before the GP, there are no lock files on the drive.. p8 is not open
when I try to run p11

this should be a total no-brainer, but it's not.. what am I missing ???
