I get that "no more files" error in 9, 10, or 11 occasionally.. I just 
get out of paradox, and back in.. it's no different than getting the GP 
abort.. you gotta close up and get back in

there was a BDE issue in pdoxDOS 4.01 that caused that, my guess it's 
something really transient that causes the same error, randomly

the disappearing table, no clue, but I agree the first thing to do is 
run the repair tool on it
