>AFAIK the BDE requires SMB1.
hmmm, is that officially listed anywhere? I know it was discussed, but I
am wondering if that is stated anywhere or just "known"?

Also, (as I have said before) the latest WordPerfect / Corel Office contains
Paradox latest version (I know no real changes in years). And latest WordPerfect
office is Windows 11 certified.

I have been told Corel cannot be Windows 11 certified if its programs cannot
run on it. I believe this, but always test ahead. Never know.

Plus you left off this from your quoted statement:
---The company "will provide an out-of-band unsupported install package for
organizations or users that still need SMB1 to connect to old factory machinery,
medical gear, consumer NAS, etc.---

Lots of older devices will need it.

I had thought a few people here stated they did install Paradox to Windows
11 with no issues?

It seems users upgrading from Win10 to Win11 have reported "almost" no issues
with most installed programs. I did have one (not paradox based) OTS program
I could not get to WIN10, but that one had end of life in Windows 95, being
"old" in 1995.

Again, we all know the situation and most of us are keeping older systems
running. I have one large and wide, but small user base system on a single
PC I maintain and enhance daily. The owner of the business is in the 5-7
years retire zone, so just keeping it working until then. None of the power
users here encourage "new" development, but I bet we keep some of these existing
apps running for next 5-10 years.

Plus I have a few that run on single PCs, no network shares used, etc., small
mom and pops.
